My Story:

Life's twists and turns have always fascinated me — the way we navigate change, the way it shapes us, and the profound impact it has on our journey. I didn't always welcome change with open arms, but I've learned to appreciate the ability it provides us to connect with our true selves and guide us as we find our way forward.

Early Years:

Growing up, I admired people who shared their resources to make life better for others. I learned that we never know what sort of trouble someone may be experiencing and that we should strive to be generous with kindness and inclusiveness. I was also growing up in an era when many women were entering (or re-entering) the workforce. I was influenced by their strength and tenacity as they balanced their careers with other responsibilities. Inspired, I chose to study business during college.

Business Life:

For over two decades, I advanced in management roles, later enjoying leadership positions through which I could nurture professional growth within the teams I led. Eventually however, burnout signaled a need for change. Pursuing my interest in social sciences, I earned a graduate degree in clinical social work while working full time. An international move and a break from the corporate world allowed me to begin to redefine an identity beyond my profession.

Professional Pivot:

Upon returning to the U.S., I reconnected with social work colleagues at Boston University, where I studied Social Work and completed  internships focused on the study of Hoarding Disorder. This led me to learn how to write grants, pitch community-based mental health initiatives and provide clinical services in communities around Massachusetts. I later worked in a behavioral health clinic to complete the training necessary to earn my LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work) credential. Deepening my commitment to clinical practice and education, I began to teach graduate-level courses at Boston University and have continued in this role for more than a decade. Following a new path, I learned that career changes guided by intuition can be transformative.

Finding My Way Back:

I have always loved horses. From learning to ride as a kid to becoming a working student, I learned invaluable lessons. Over time, life got busy and I drifted from spending time with them. Years later, I found my way back to the barn. Eventually adopting a horse of my own, I embraced my youthful passion and found that rediscovering what brought me joy in my younger years held deep meaning for me today.

And now ...

My story is an example of transformative change, and the wisdom gained by listening to our inner voice that we may often disregard. By embracing new paths, rediscovering what we love, and following our intuition, we can find fulfillment and purpose in unexpected ways.
